Complete a Task

Trigger a rule when a task is completed

Example Rules

  • When a task is completed, move it to the “Done” section of a project.

Filtering this trigger

You can narrow when this trigger fires by adding a filter, so a rule only runs on the tasks you care about. This trigger can filter by label, due date, or deadline.

On the Pro plan you can combine more than one filter at once, and every filter has to match for the rule to run.

If you filter by a label and later delete that label in Todoist, we remove any rule that relied on it. This keeps your rules from silently pointing at a label that no longer exists.
