trigger
Task Reaches Due Date
Trigger a rule when a task reaches its due date
Example Rules
- When a task reaches its due date, move it to the “Today” section of a project
- When a task reaches its due date, assign a label to flag it for review
Rules with this trigger may take up to 5 minutes to run after the task reaches its due date.
Filtering this trigger
You can narrow when this trigger fires by adding a filter, so a rule only runs on the tasks you care about. This trigger can filter by label or deadline.
On the Pro plan you can combine more than one filter at once, and every filter has to match for the rule to run.
If you filter by a label and later delete that label in Todoist, we remove any rule that relied on it. This keeps your rules from silently pointing at a label that no longer exists.
